be a part of something great

The rewards of membership in Zonta International and the Zonta Club of Brampton-Caledon are far reaching.

Service– Zonta members serve and make a difference in the community to which they belong.

Networking and Fellowship– Zonta provides common values to work together to meet common goals; their co-operative efforts also open doors to friendships worldwide.

Diversity– Zonta’s classification system ensures a broad membership drawn from many businesses and professions, and thus provides opportunities for interaction with others outside one’s own particular area of expertise.

Leadership– Zonta provides members interested in developing leadership potential with opportunities for growth at a variety of levels- in the local club, at the district or the international level.

Advancement of Women– Zonta clubs work on both the local and international level for the advancement of women- legally, politically, socially and economically.  Zontians serve as role models within their own community.

Education– Many of Zonta’s International and local projects involve education, whether awards or fellowships for students or literacy programs for adults.

International Interaction & Travel– Zonta provides members with a rare opportunity for international participation through its links with several United Nations agencies, through annual, local workshops/conferences and through its biennial international convention.

What our members have to say about their experience with Zonta

I first became aware of Zonta Club after the City of Brampton International Women’s Day Celebration in 2021. I knew instantly that it was an organization I wanted to be a part of, and was fortunate to receive an invite from member, Marion Reeves, to attend one of the monthly meetings as a guest. It was wildly refreshing to be amongst like-purposed women who believed whole-heartedly in lifting each other, and our community, UP through service and advocacy. Zonta allows me to be community-focused while also expanding my horizons when it comes to International Initiatives like the UN’s Commission on the Status of Women. I love that there are always opportunities to learn and grow through this club, and look forward to all of the meaningful projects that we’ll get to work on together!

— Lisa clarke (member since 2021 & 2022 Communications chair)

I have been a member of the Zonta Club of Brampton Caledon since 2011. As a member, I continuously meet, work with and learn from amazing women as we serve our community together. We inspire each other to make the world a better place for women and girls locally and internationally. Through Zonta membership, I have attended educational and advocacy sessions at the United Nations in New York where I saw the positive impact of our work on a worldwide scale. Leadership experiences and friendships formed are certainly a valued bonus!

— kimberlee johnston (member since 2011 & 2022 president)

My 42-year membership with Zonta International has given me an opportunity to travel to other countries; hone my leadership skills; share my expertise with others, and develop lifelong friendships while making a difference through service and advocacy for the women and girls in my community. Our Brampton-Caledon club is a warm, welcoming, safe place to learn and grow, develop meaningful relationships and contribute to a better world.

— Kathleen Douglas (member since 1980 & 2022 President Elect)
